The "DieYi" piano duo was founded by two vice professors of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, pianists Shiwei Li and Haizhu Dong. 

 

As early as 2009, the two performers began the initial performance cooperation. They kept their efforts to promote and spread the piano duo art in addition to teaching work.  They have already held special concerts in many colleges and univercities  in China, as well as lectures and master classes, and the influence is gradually expanding. 

 

In 2013-15, “DieYi” held series concerts in Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou and other places.

In 2016, in the commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of "Piano Art” ( the most important magazine of piano music in China ), "DieYi" to hold a special concert of Chinese piano duo works;

In 2017, "DieYi"  held a tour in several major music colleges in Harbin with concerts and lectures, and , also an important debut at the world's first EU Qingdao Youth Music Festival in Qingdao, and won the "Best Classical Music Promotion" award. From 2018 to 19, the "DieYi" held commemorative series piano duo concerts for Brahms in Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai.

 

Therefore, it also won the praise of the mainstream music media. The Beijing Music Weekly also interviewed them and published an exclusive interview.

Weinstock's piano studies were with Claude Frank, Lilian Kallir, Edith Oppens, Victor Rosenbaum, and Emil Danenberg. He has performed as soloist, concerto soloist, and chamber musician in North and South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. His formal New York debut recital was in 1977. He has appeared with such conductors as Jesús López-Cobos, Erich Kunzel, Keith Lockhart, Jorge Mester, Gunther Schuller, Markand Thakar, and Luthero Rodrigues. As a chamber musician, he has performed with the Tokyo String Quartet, Leonard Rose, Glen Dicterow, Larry Combs, the Percussion Group Cincinnati, and with members of the Guarneri, LaSalle, Manhattan, and Berkshire Quartets. He was recently featured in Benjamin Saver's book, The Most Wanted Piano Teachers in the USA.

His current and fomer students hail from six continents, and are prominent performers, recording artists, and professors at universities around the world; they have won first prizes in the Naumburg, St. Charles, and Joanna Hodges International Piano Competitions. In the summers, he has taught and/or performed at the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Eastern Music Festival, the Great Wall International Music Academy (Beijing), the Skaneateles Festival, and the Deer Valley Music Festival. He has been a juror for the Gina Bachauer, Hilton Head, and Joanna Hodges International Piano Competitions, as well as the Canadian Music Competition.

Weinstock is also the author of Cakewalk in Concert (1998), Home Concert (2000) and Home Concert Xtreme (2005), pedagogical and rehearsal software for keyboard players, published by TimeWarp Technologies. Before coming to CCM, he taught at Princeton University.
