Haixuan Ni, born in Beijing, began his studies at the Middle School Affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music. He later received a full scholarship to study in the United States for more than ten years and returned to China in 2011 as a high-level talent recruit.

Ni has won numerous national and international piano competitions, including First Prize in the National Xinghai Cup Piano Competition (four consecutive championships), First Prize in the National Piano Faculty Invitational Competition, the Wilcoxson Artistic Achievement Award (USA), First Prize in the Lakeshore Young Artist Concerto Competition (USA), First Prize in the Butler University Concerto Competition, and First Prize in the Michigan State University Concerto Competition.

His performances have received high praise from leading pianists worldwide. Ralph Votapek (Gold Medalist, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition) commended Ni’s “superb technique and artistic maturity, enabling him to master even the most demanding repertoire.” Jon Kimura Parker (Gold Medalist, Leeds International Piano Competition) described his concerto performances as “rare in their combination of precision, tonal warmth, and elegant stage presence.” His longtime mentor, Panayis Lyras (Silver Medalist, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition), remarked that Ni “demonstrates complete technical command, extraordinary artistic sensibility, and a deep, sincere dedication to the art of classical music.”

Ni has performed in major concert halls across China, including the Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Symphony Hall, Guangzhou Xinghai Concert Hall, Tianjin Concert Hall, Qingdao Grand Theatre, and Hangzhou Grand Theatre. In recent years, he has appeared in cities throughout China—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Jinan, Shenyang, Changchun, Harbin, Lanzhou, Xi’an, Nanchang, and Taipei—as well as in the United States, South Korea, and Belgium, giving solo recitals, chamber concerts, concerto performances, and masterclasses.

He has been a frequent guest artist and lecturer at major international music festivals, including the Gilmore Music Festival (USA), the Korean Concert Artists Association International Music Festival, the Winter Euro Arts Academy, and the European Summer Piano Academy (Belgium).

His solo albums include Hero — Haixuan Ni Performs Four Beethoven Piano Masterworks (People’s Music Publishing House, 2022) and Magnificent Rivers and Mountains — Haixuan Ni Performs Chinese Piano Works (Shanghai Music Publishing House, 2023).

Since returning to China in 2011, Ni has published numerous academic papers in national music journals and, in 2015, presented at the 5th Cross-Strait Music Education Forum on Music Education in Taiwan: Reflections and Insights. In 2019, he appeared on CCTV-10’s “China Film and Television Chronicles” to discuss Zhu Zaiyu’s contribution to the development of equal temperament.

Ni has served as a jury member for many national and international piano competitions, and his students have achieved top prizes at events such as the National Little Golden Bell Piano Competition, National Golden Sunflower Cup, Shanghai International Youth Piano Competition, Prokofiev International Music Competition, Piano Alliance International Piano Star Competition, American Piano Open, Hong Kong International Piano Open, and Germany’s OeMüller International Piano Competition. Many of his students have received full scholarships to prestigious music schools abroad.

He has studied with Feilan Li, Yuan Ling, Pingguo Zhao, Hua Chang, Beverly Hassel, and Panayis Lyras, and has participated in masterclasses with many of the world’s foremost pianists, including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Joseph Banowetz, Vladimir Feltsman, Stephen Hough, Jon Kimura Parker, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Mikhail Voskresensky, Ralph Votapek, and Lilya Zilberstein, receiving wide acclaim for his artistry and musicianship.
