Hye-Soo Jeon is a highly accomplished pianist. She graduated as the top pianist from Sookmyung Women’s University and the excellent student during her 6 years of middle and high school studies at Sunhwa Art School. She later earned her master’s and doctoral studies at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory in Russia.
During her study at Sookmyung Women’s University, she was awarded a full scholarship from Samick Musical Instruments and received a scholarship from the College of Music Alumni Association. Notably, she became the first recipient of the Talent Development Scholarship from the College of Music at Sookmyung Women’s University during her studies in Russia.
She has performed at events such as the Chosun Ilbo and Music Journal New Artist Concerts and has received awards at international competitions held in Italy and Bulgaria.
In 2021, she was honored with the “Outstanding Dedication Award” given by the special panel of judges at the ICA International Piano Competition.
Jeon has performed extensively in Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Russia, the United States, Italy, Austria, Poland, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania, and Vietnam. She has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic, Khabarovsk National Symphony, Hamburg Symphony, Stuttgart Pegasus String Quartet, Romania Oltenia Philharmonic, Banatul Timisoara Chamber Orchestra, Pitești Philharmonic Symphony, Alicante Symphony in Spain, Torun Symphony in Poland, Prime Philharmonic, Korea Coop Orchestra, and Daegu City Symphony Orchestra, among others.
She has also been invited as a jury member for competitions such as the 4th Young Talent International Competition (Russia), the 7th Serebriakova International Competition (Russia), ICA International Competition (Vietnam), Montecito International Competition (USA), YMIC International Competition (USA), and the Almeria Diesis Academy International Music Competition (Spain).
Jeon has released two solo albums and has been invited as a faculty member at international festivals, including in Italy (Perugia) and the United States (Montecito), and has held masterclasses in Germany (Opulen Art Festival).
Currently, she serves as a professor at the Piano Department of Sookmyung Women’s University, the director of the non-profit organization Piano Cantabile, and a board member of the Korean Piano of Society.
