Festival Residency

July 21 – 31, 2026

Set at the edge of the Rocky Mountains, the CIPAF Festival Residency offers a focused ten-day immersion for pianists seeking rigorous study, distinguished mentorship, and meaningful performance opportunities. Since 2010, CIPAF has welcomed emerging artists from around the world to refine their craft alongside celebrated performers and pedagogues representing leading conservatories.

Residency participants receive private lessons, masterclass invitations, full access to festival events, and automatic entry into the CIPAF International Competition. The environment is intensive, supportive, and artistically vibrant.​

​  Artistic Training & Mentorship:

  • Minimum of three private lessons

  • Minimum of one masterclass

  • Participation in the CIPAF International Competition

  • Admission to all concerts, lectures, and masterclasses

  • Access to UNC practice facilities

  • Translation assistance available as needed

  • Double-occupancy housing on UNC’s campus

The University of Northern Colorado provides an ideal environment for the Festival Residency. Its beautiful campus is home to a distinguished all-Steinway School of Music—one of only two doctoral-granting music institutions in Colorado—and the state-of-the-art Campus Commons Performance Hall. Participants enjoy comfortable tudor-style housing and full dining services located just steps from festival activities.

Fee Breakdown

All fees due by June 1, 2026

Application Fee / $150 USD

Non-refundable. Covers entrance to the CIPAF Solo and Concerto Competitions.
Late Application Fee: $200 for applications submitted after the June 1 deadline.​

CIPAF Registration Fee / $1,200 USD

Includes competition entry, lessons, masterclasses, event access, practice facilities, and translation support.

CIPAF Residency Fee / $1,300 USD

Includes housing, meals, airport transportation, and sightseeing tour.

Scholarships

Limited scholarship available upon acceptance.

Refund Policy

90% refund (minus application fee) for request on or after June 1, 2026.

50% refund (minus application fee) for request on or after June 15, 2026.
